2026Pair of EllipsesVasesStoneware, glazed inside Pair of Ellipses takes its name from dual relationships between two slip-cast vases shaped as ellipsoids. Within each, a second dialogue unfolds between the ellipsoid body and its elliptical mouth. A subtle transition that preserves the integrity of the ellipse, yet introduces a gentle tension as the form begins to pull away from itself.


Geometrically, an ellipse carries an inherent instability. Its longest axis is most susceptible to slumping in the kiln. The Pair of Ellipses works address that tendency directly, preserving the integrity of the ellipse through careful calibration - a consideration that partly explains the rarity of such forms in ceramic work.

2024NimCoffee TableDenim & Cotton, Cotton Candy Edition The Cotton Candy Edition was created using leftover colours not required in the original piece. A vibrant pink top, blended from red and white cotton, is paired with a wispy blue base made from lighter shades of denim. Playful and youthful, it offers a lighthearted contrast to the deeper tones of the original Nim Coffee Table.

2024NimCoffee TableDenim & Cotton Born from the curiosity of expanding the natural colour palette of fabric by breaking it down to its smallest unit — the thread, this project investigates how different textiles respond to blending and how varying combinations and ratios of fibres can affect the textures and visual patterning of colour.

The Nim Coffee Table combines this exploration of fibre behaviour with a study in moulded fabric. Fabric scraps are saturated with starch, layered, and compressed within a 3D-printed mould. Made from dark blue denim, yellow cotton, and muted green cotton, the top half features a higher proportion of denim, which is blended longer to produce a more uniform grain and a deep blue tone. In contrast, the bottom half contains more yellow and green cotton, blended briefly to preserve a patchier texture where individual colours remain visible.

2023Enoki LampFloor LampMetal A minimalistic take on mushrooms sprouting from a log, their stems and anchorage distilled into slender tubular structures. Light concealed within bounces off the reflective underside of each cap, casting combinations of delicate ellipses as the caps tilt, as if nodding and conversing with one another.
